[glow=purple,2,300]Maria roamed the sidewalks, alone, as always. It was a cold night tonight, but she didn't think much of it. The only noise outside was the swish, swish of her jeans as each of her legs passed one another, and the song of crickets close by. She needed to clear her head, so she was out for a walk tonight.
Maria let her gaze wander from the flowers on the ground beside her, to the streetlights above. A giant shape loomed before her and she caught a scent that she hadn't smelled in a while. As she continued to walk forward, she saw that the giant shape turned out to be a huge mansion. Why haven't I seen this before? she asked herself, stepping up to the front gate. The scent was definately coming from inside. She looked left and then right, seeing if there was anyone watching her, then she opened the gate, why wasn't it locked?, and then closed it behind her.
She cringed at the creaking of the gate, but soon regained herself and looked around again, worried someone might had heard it. When no one came, Maria took a step toward the big mansion. She hesitated, her hand over the knob, at the door. The smell was stronger here. The only time she'd scented this it had been last year when her boyfriend had turned into a werewolf and bitten her. Could there be more werewolves here other than me? she wondered. She gathered her courage and twisted the knob, letting herself in.
Once again, the door creaked just like the gate, but this time she was less worried, just excited. "Hello?" Maria called, walking away from the door and into the mansion.[/glow]
