Name: Tabula Rasa
Gender: Male
Age: 16
Species: Human
Physical Description: Tabula stands at about 6’9. He is thin and lanky with strong arms and legs. His skin is russet brown, and his eyes are green with a hint of blue. He has short, closely cropped black hair and usually wears a white shirt and ragged jeans.
Personality: Tabula is one of those who likes to relax most of the time. He doesn’t let things bother him, rather goes with the flow. He is wise for his years, preferring to analyze situations logically before jumping to a conclusion. He has his suspicions about vampires and werewolves, having heard about them earlier in his life. He is usually understanding, thus helping him to make friends with anyone, even people that are new to the area. However, he does not like vampires, even though he doesn’t know if they exist.
Strengths: Tabula is quite agile for his species, and is able to run about fifteen miles per hour.
Weaknesses: Tabula hates vampires, even though he doesn’t know if they exist or not.
History: Tabula Rasa was born in La Push. He has had the shapeshifter gene since birth, and it may kick in any time now. Anyway, he’s lived a rather average life like any human. He’s had a few close calls in his life; his brother, Amaras Rasa, is usually the one getting him into problems. Once, Amaras played a prank on him, which involved Tabula nearly getting squashed under an overly large boulder. Only his reflexes and speed saved his life that time. However, they get along pretty well.
Tabula has met a few werewolves in his life, but didn’t know until now, when he was researching them everywhere. He found out that werewolves had a very high body temperature, and that confirmed some of his suspicions. He also researched vampires, and found out their skin was cold. So now he’s basically on to the myths. Other than that, his life has been, as mentioned, pretty much like any other non mythological creature.
Family:
Amaras Rasa-Brother
Adolph Rasa-Father
Role Playing Example:
One of those rare sunny days in La Push.
Tabula Rasa trotted down the beach, his hands in his pockets, watching crowds of normal people walking along. Clenching his fists, he grinned to himself. After doing all that research on werewolves, he had found out that he had the werewolf gene. Of course, there would be a price to pay with the involvement of his least favorite creature. He scowled at the mere memory of it, shaking his head slightly as the one word ran through his mind like a freight train. One word that could change the world or his at least. Vampires. As he continued to scowl, some people looked at him curiously. He stopped the action and continued to walk across the white sand, starting in surprise as he heard a familiar walking pattern. He turned to see his predictions correct; his brother Amaras Rasa ran toward him. He glowered as Amaras came closer to him. ‘What do you want?’
‘Attitude…’ Amaras shook his head comically and narrowly avoided a heavy punch to the nose thrown by his brother. He grinned. ‘Oh, nothing much. It’s just that there’s a werewolf in front of our house.’
Tabula continued to walk with his head down. Amaras kept up, trotting close to his side. ‘C’mon, bro, it’s no fun when you don’t react to a joke. But really, there’s a strange person in front of our house.’ Amaras pulled a face. ‘We better go see what he wants.’
Tabula could hear the truth in his brother’s words and changed course to his house. Amaras, thankfully, had decided to be quiet for the whole trip there. No sooner had the strange man come into Tabula’s sight then a shiver coursed down his spine and he pulled his brother to a stop. The man turned to look at him, and his worst fears were confirmed. He was glad his father was a werewolf as what he supposed as a vampire’s crimson eyes burned into him. Tabula shoved his brother around and they ran to the back of the house. As they both began to scale the big tree to their window, an emergency entrance and exit, Tabula grinned. Amaras, of course, stared at him like he was crazy as the faint sound of footsteps dashed away from the house. As soon as the two had gotten into their house, Tabula lay down on his bed. His arms, legs, and whole body ached, and he had no idea why. As soon as he glanced at his brother, he saw the same thing was happening to him.
The werewolf gene was triggered.
